Gedac Electric’s expertise in Protection and Control is the result of our experience in the design and construction of power distribution solutions for numerous power plants and substations. GEDAC offer Protection & Control solutions for the entire power production and transmission delivery process, encompassing all aspects of protection, metering, control and Automation systems in new and existing sites.

Many of our recent projects have been for brown field sites where our experience and innovative Protection & Control solutions have been vital to the implementation of challenging projects .

Our Automation systems capabilities include:


  • Undertaking full turnkey substation automation projects in the field of power distribution, and/or retrofit or upgrades of existing systems.
  • Conceptual and basic design, development of system overview including component layout.
  • System functional scope design and description including monitoring and control.
  • Programming of the system as per the functional scope.
  • Specify, configure, integrate and acquire the system components including program logic controller (PLC), supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), central control and monitoring system (CCMS) with respect to alarms, operational events, messages and control.
  • Human machine interface (HMI) at the control center including the central CCMS equipment operator interface screens/graphics.
  • Project management and supervision of installation of the hardware including the system input/output (Distributed I/O’s), bus/cable/fiber optic field infrastructure, and testing & commissioning.
  • Training of operational and maintenance staff and after sales support.
